About MEOS
MEOS has proven to be a successful forum for companies and professionals involved in the oil and gas industry to learn about innovative approaches in finding and producing hydrocarbons. As companies are forced to search and drill for oil in deeper waters, technology has become crucial to delivering plentiful supplies of energy.
The exhibition at MEOS 2009 therefore provides a pre-eminent opportunity for exhibitors to showcase their respective upstream applications and technologies. With over 85 companies already signed up, visitors can expect to learn from some of the most authoritative figures and innovative organizations in the oil and gas industry.
Exhibitors include such key individual technology suppliers and operators as Bapco, Saudi Aramco, Kuwait Petroleum Company, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, Qatar Petroleum, Petroleum Development of Oman, Baker Hughes Chevron, Halliburton, North American Pavilion, Occidental, Pan Gulf, Shell, Schlumberger and Yusuf bin Ahmed Kanoo, plus national pavilions from the United Kingdom and the United States of America.
Bahrain is also the ideal location for MEOS. Surrounded by most of the world’s petroleum reserves, it is within easy reach of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iran, Kuwait and the United Emirates. Furthermore, Bahrain was the first country in the Gulf to find and produce oil, spearheading the Gulf’s phenomenal hydrocarbon industry as it is today.
In addition Bahrain’s hospitality is legendary, boasting some of the finest restaurants and first-class hotels in the Gulf region, while Bahrainis are renowned for their friendliness. It is therefore no surprise that Bahrain was awarded the best place in the Gulf to do business by the World Trade Organisation.
